When fans were making their pre-tournament predictions for the World Cup, very few would have picked Colombia and Jamaica to be battling it out for a spot in the quarterfinals.
Yet that is exactly what has happened, as the two sides have confounded expectations to qualify for the knockout rounds over more established opposition.
Colombia won their first two matches, defeating South Korea 2-0 before shocking Germany in a 2-1 victory that featured a phenomenal performance from 18-year-old Linda Caicedo, which helped them top Group H despite losing their final match to Morocco.
Jamaica meanwhile were able to hold France to a 0-0 draw despite losing star striker Khadija 'Bunny' Shaw to a red card, before defeating Panama in a tight 1-0 win. That meant Jamaica could progress with just a draw against South American champions Brazil, and they managed to do just that, securing their first ever trip to the knockout rounds in just their second World Cup.

Colombia vs Jamaica lineups, team news
Colombia's lineup has remained largely unchanged during the tournament so far, with the only switches made being seen in the front line, with Leicy Santos and Lady Andrade being interchanged in the attacking midfield places.
The star of the show for the South Americans has been Linda Caicedo, who scored in the opening match in part due to a keeper mistake, but there was no such incident with her goal against Germany, where she squeezed her way into the box, cut inside and deceived three German defenders before rifling a shot into the top corner, sending 40,000 people in Sydney into raptures.
Captain Daniela Montoya has started every game, but has always been withdrawn as one of the first substitutions by coach Nelson Abadia.
- Colombia projected starting lineup (4-2-3-1): Perez (GK): — C. Arias, Carabali, D. Arias, Vanegas — Montoya, Bedoya — Santos, Usme, Caicedo — Ramirez
Jamaica's surprise success has been based off a strong defence, which is one of only two at the competition — along with Japan —that is yet to concede a goal, with the sisters Allyson and Chantelle Swaby having imperious performances at centre-back, and goalkeeper Rebecca Spencer also being highly impressive.
Their back four has been protected by a holding midfielder in Vyan Sampson, which has made the Reggae Girlz very difficult to break down.
Up front they have world class Man City striker in Khadija Shaw, but her tournament has been underwhelming so far, being sent off in the opening match against France for two yellow cards, and failing to find the net, but she is a supreme talent who could prove the difference maker in this Round of 16 tie.
- Jamaica projected starting lineup (4-1-4-1): Spencer (GK): — Wiltshere, A. Swaby, C. Swaby, Blackwood — Sampson — Carter, Spence, Primus, Brown — Shaw
Colombia vs Jamaica betting odds
The match is set to be one of the closest of the knockout stages, with not much separating the two sides considered underdogs before the tournament.
Goals are also expected to be at a premium given Jamaica's defensive performances, but Colombia are expected to just have enough to get over the line, though it may not be decided after 90 minutes.
