Spanish giants Real Madrid are one of the most successful clubs in UEFA Super Cup history.
Thanks to their dominance of the UEFA Champions League over the past decade, Los Blancos have become a regular part of the Super Cup.
In 2022, Carlo Ancelotti's side topped Eintracht Frankfurt 2-0 to win their fifth Super Cup, joint-most in history. David Alaba and Karim Benzema bagged the goals in what was a full team performance across the board.

How many times have Real Madrid won the UEFA Super Cup?
Heading into the 2022 Super Cup, Real Madrid have previously won the competition four times in 2002, 2014, 2016 and 2017. Los Blancos tacked on a fifth as they topped Eintracht Frankfurt 2-0 to win the 2022 title.
That tied Real Madrid atop the Super Cup table with Barcelona and AC Milan, who have also triumphed five times each.
Los Blancos have also lost three Super Cup finals to date, last defeated by Atletico Madrid back in 2018. That defeat is the last time a Europa League winner has won the Super Cup.
Real Madrid's UEFA Super Cup titles
Super Cup 2002
On August 30, 2002 in Monaco, Real Madrid lifted their first UEFA Super Cup and thus added a title that had eluded them on two previous occasions.
Los Blancos, the 2001-2002 Champions League winners, beat Dutch side Feyenoord 3-1.
Patrick Paauwe's early own goal, along with strikes from Roberto Carlos and Guti proved decisive.

Super Cup 2014
The Cardiff City Stadium in Wales was the venue for the 2014 Super Cup where Real Madrid beat Sevilla 2-0 courtesy of a double from Cristiano Ronaldo.
Ancelotti was manager that day and it was his third Super Cup success overall having already won it twice with AC Milan.
Super Cup 2016
Just two years later, the final was repeated as Real Madrid faced Sevilla at the Lerkendal Stadion in Norway.
Zinedine Zidane won the arm-wrestling match against Jorge Sampaoli in a match that was decided in extra time.
Marco Asensio put Real ahead, before Franco Vázquez and Yevhen Konoplyanka turned the score around in favour of Sevilla.
Sergio Ramos equalised in injury time for Real and then, in the final minutes of extra time, Dani Carvajal scored the goal that gave the club a third Super Cup title.

Super Cup 2017
For the second consecutive year, Real Madrid managed to lift the trophy.
At the Filip II Arena in Macedonia, they defeated Manchester United 2-1. Casemiro and Isco gave Zidane's team the lead, while Romelu Lukaku pulled one back for Jose Mourinho's Red Devils.
Super Cup 2022
David Alaba opened the scoring past the half-hour mark and Karim Benzema added another in the second half as Real Madrid topped Eintracht Frankfurt 2-0 to win their fifth UEFA Super Cup.
It was a comprehensive performance, as Frankfurt failed to capitalize on its few chances, and Real Madrid shut up shop effectively after going two goals ahead.
Have Eintracht Frankfurt ever won the UEFA Super Cup?
After winning the Europa League last season, Eintracht Frankfurt are set to compete in the UEFA Super Cup for the first time.
Bayern Munich are the only German club to have won the competition and have done so twice in 2013 and 2020.
Fellow German sides Hamburger SV, Werder Bremen and Borussia Dortmund have also played in the UEFA Super Cup but fallen short in their quest for the title.
