Tottenham next manager odds: Latest updates as Mauricio Pochettino is tipped to replace Antonio Conte at Spurs image

After Tottenham once again failed to win silverware this season, another manager has departed.

Following a Champions League exit and shock draw with Southampton in the Premier League, Antonio Conte left Spurs by mutual agreement on March 26.

Cristian Stellini initially took interim charge but was sacked the day after Tottenham's 6-1 hammering at Newcastle United on April 25, with familiar stand-in Ryan Mason stepping up in what is likely to be a temporary appointment.

A number of names have already emerged as possible candidates to permanently replace Conte and bookmakers have wasted no time evaluating their odds of landing the job.

The Sporting News takes a look at the early favourites to become Tottenham's next manager below.

Former Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino and recently sacked Bayern Munich coach Julian Nagelsmann are among the frontrunners to be Tottenham's manager on the first day of the 2023/24 season, according to bookmakers.

Odd as of April 24, 2023.

Some of the leading candidates are assessed below.

Ange Postecoglou — 20/1

The man in charge of an in-form Celtic team, Australian Postecoglou has previously been linked to a number of Premier League positions.

Postecoglou has won trophies everywhere he's gone in his career, making him an attractive proposition for Spurs.

The 57-year-old, however, seems perfectly happy at the Hoops and intent on remaining in Glasgow for at least another season as they look to become a force in Europe again.

Ange Postecoglou Celtic

Thomas Frank — 25/1

Working wonders at fellow Premier League club Brentford, the Danish manager is rightly on the radar of a number of teams.

Already based in London, Frank wouldn't need to relocate for the Tottenham job and has shown his ability to make the most of what he's got — something that would be music to Daniel Levy's ears.

The Bees would seem to have Frank locked down, though, having handed him a new long-term contract in 2022. Plus, with the club flirting with a possible place in Europe next season, it's hard to see him forcing his way out.

Roberto De Zerbi — 20/1

The young Italian coach has wasted no time turning heads in England after joining Brighton at the start of the 2022/23 season.

De Zerbi has the Seagulls flying high in the Premier League and they have a genuine chance of securing a European place next season having already beaten the likes of Liverpool, Manchester United and Chelsea this campaign.

The 43-year-old has previous experience with Sassuolo and Shakhtar Donetsk, winning the Ukrainian Super Cup with the latter in 2021.

Mauricio Pochettino — 9/1

Could Tottenham really bring back their former manager? The bookies seem to think so and there's no reason why Pochettino wouldn't be viewed as a genuine option.

The Argentine has been out of management since leaving PSG in mid-2022. Despite his short stint in Paris, Pochettino did what he couldn't do with Spurs and win silverware there — three trophies, in fact.

With that experience behind him, Tottenham may be tempted to bring back Pochettino, and he is seemingly open to a return, according to The Times

Julian Nagelsmann  — 5/1

Suddenly in contention after his surprise sacking from Bayern Munich, the young German coach would be a great get for Spurs.

The 35-year-old worked wonders with Hoffenheim and RB Leipzig, while only lost 10 of his 84 matches in charge of Bayern.

Nagelsmann won't come cheaply, however, and may take some convincing to head to Tottenham.
