India are all set to take on Kuwait in the final of the SAFF Championship 2023 on Tuesday, July 4 at the Sree Kanteerava Stadium in Bengaluru.
India qualified for the final after finishing second in Group A behind Kuwait and then beat Lebanon 4-2 in the penalty shootout to reach their ninth consecutive SAFF Championship final.

The last time India and Kuwait faced each other was on June 27 in Bengaluru in the final group game where India were held to a 1-1 draw after Kuwait scored a late equaliser.
India will miss their head coach Igor Stimac in the dugout as the Croatian was shown sent off for a confrontation with the fourth official during the game against Kuwait in the group stage. Stimac was handed a two-match suspension.
While Stimac will once again sit on the stands, good news for the Blue Tigers is that Sandesh Jhingan and Rahim Ali are back in the matchday squad after serving a one-match suspension each.

How have India performed in the SAFF Championship 2023?
India started their SAFF campaign on a high by thrashing rivals Pakistan 4-0 with Sunil Chhetri netting a hat-trick.
In their second game, they comfortably outclassed Nepal 2-0 and in their final game, they managed a draw despite taking the lead in the first courtesy of Chhetri's 92nd international strike.
