Netherlands at Euro 2024: Teams in group, fixtures, schedule, path to final in Germany image

Ronald Koeman is leading the Netherlands at a European Championship for the second time in his career after returning to his former role at the start of 2023.

Koeman was in charge as the Dutch were knocked out at the Round of 16 stage at Euro 2020 and he immediately left after the tournament to take charge at Barcelona.

However, the veteran coach accepted the chance to replace Louis van Gaal after the 2022 FIFA World Cup, with the Dutch fans offering him a mixed response ahead of Euro 2024.

Liverpool captain Virgil van Dijk leads Koeman's side in Germany as they look to avoid a possible early exit after a tough group-stage draw. They certainly started in a positive way, defeating Poland 2-1 in their opening match to claim three important points ahead of a meeting with France.

Netherlands Euro 2024 path to the final

Should the Netherlands reach the knockout stage via a top two spot in Group D, they would be guaranteed to face a second-place finisher, either from Group E or F.

However, if they reach the finals via a third-place finish, their path would depend on where in the third-place table they end up, and their pathway would be tougher to predict.

In the knockout fixtures below, all possible positions for the Netherlands are bolded for the Round of 16 and quarterfinals for if they finish top two in their group.
