Liverpool and Manchester City shared in a thrilling 2-2 league draw in Manchester, and they meet again less than a week later. While they were vying for the lead at the top of the Premier League table in the first matchup, they'll be going head to head on Saturday for a place in the FA Cup final.

Last weekend's match was considered one of most entertaining in recent memory by many observers, and hopes will be high for a similar offering at Wembley. Both teams also had Champions League quarterfinals to contend with in midweek. City and Liverpool both advanced to the UEFA Champions League semifinals, but one midweek match was more taxing than the other.

Manchester City faced a battle against Atletico Madrid and, although they got through in the end, it was a fiery affair that will have taken a lot out of Guardiola's team. In contrast, Jurgen Klopp was able to rest a host of his Liverpool starters as his side played out a thrilling 3-3 draw with Benfica, going through to the semis thanks to a two-goal cushion established in the first leg.

With only two days between their Champions League games and the cup clash, Liverpool could have the advantage in this game, with Jurgen Klopp's side going into the game with fresher legs, at least in theory. If the game is anything like the Premier League clash, anyone off the pace will be found wanting very quickly.

Manchester City vs. Liverpool predicted lineups

Pep Guardiola has the majority of his squad available to him for this game, but the clash with Atletico Madrid may have taken a toll. Kyle Walker went off injured, and his availability for this game isn't certain. The defender would be a big miss for Guardiola, as would Kevin De Bruyne, who was also taken off after picking up a worrying leg injury in Madrid.

Ruben Dias is back in the City squad after being out for several weeks, but it would be a surprise to see him integrated back into the starting lineup for this game. Gabriel Jesus impressed with his direct running when these teams met last weekend, and could start for that reason.

Man City predicted lineup (4-3-3): Ederson (GK) — Cancelo, Stones, Laporte, Ake — Silva, Rodri, Gundogan — Jesus, Sterling, Grealish

Jurgen Klopp could have his full squad to call on going into this game. He was able to rest key players in midweek, with Virgil Van Dijk, Sadio Mane, Mohamed Salah, Trent Alexander-Arnold, and Andrew Robertson all expected to return to the side.

There's a minor concern around Diogo Jota, who took a knock during the Benfica match. While Liverpool are waiting to assess him, Klopp sounded upbeat about Jota's chances of making the squad.

It will be between Ibrahima Konate and Joel Matip to partner Van Dijk at the back, while one of Diaz or Firmino are likely to be the third attacker.

Liverpool predicted lineup (4-3-3): Alisson (GK) — Alexander-Arnold, Matip, Van Dijk, Robertson — Henderson, Fabinho, Thiago — Salah, Firmino, Mane

Manchester City vs. Liverpool betting odds

With both teams in good form, there's no clear favourite for this game and the odds reflect that. It could go either way and, the semifinal could end up needing extra time, or a penalty shootout, to separate the sides.

One thing is for certain, goals are expected here. Like last weekend, both sides are expected to score, and the game is expected to be rich in goalmouth action.
