Manchester United and Crystal Palace play each other twice at Old Trafford this week, starting with a Carabao Cup third round tie on Tuesday before meeting in the Premier League four days later.

The Carabao Cup holders ended their three-match losing run in all competitions with an unconvincing win at Burnley in the top flight on Saturday, hours after Palace shared a goalless draw with Fulham at Selhurst Park.

United have won their last two home games against the Eagles by a goal, most recently prevailing 2-1 in the Premier League in February.

The Sporting News looks at the key details ahead of this game, including how to watch it across the world, kickoff times and the latest lineup news.

Man United vs Crystal Palace lineups, team news

Summer signing Mason Mount is back in United training, but manager Erik ten Hag may not choose to risk the England midfielder in the secondary cup competition after five games out.

United's injury picture has improved with the return of Harry Maguire to training and Raphael Varane as a substitute at Turf Moor. Luke Shaw, Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Tyrell Malacia are among those still out, while Sergio Reguilon had to be replaced late on at Burnley and is a doubt for this one. Summer signings Altay Bayindir and Sofyan Amrabat could make their first starts for the club.

Man United possible lineup (4-2-3-1): Bayindir (GK) — Lindelof, Varane, Evans, Dalot — Amrabat, McTominay — Hannibal, Fernandes, Garnacho – Hojlund

Midfielders Michael Olise and Jefferson Lerma remain out for Palace, although England defender Marc Guehi returned against Fulham.

Striker Odsonne Edouard could miss out with a hamstring problem. "When you move into midfield and up front... we don’t have options that would give me a choice to give some players a rest and maybe see some other players," manager Roy Hodgson said on Saturday.

Crystal Palace possible lineup (4-2-3-1, right to left): Henderson (GK) — Clyne, Richards, Holding, Mitchell — Reidewald, Ahamada — Rak-Sakyi, Schlupp, Eze, — Mateta

Man United vs Crystal Palace prediction, odds

United are likely to field a strong side in the first game of their Carabao Cup defence as they bid to build momentum following that much-needed win at Burnley, so much will depend on how many players Hodgson rests for the visitors.

Palace fell 2-0 behind at Championship side Plymouth in the second round before being rescued by a 23-minute second-half hat-trick from Jean-Philippe Mateta in a 4-2 win. None of the last five games between them and United have been decided by more than a goal, so a narrow home win for a team who may have more incentive looks feasible.

Prediction: Man United 1-0 Crystal Palace
