Lionel Messi has officially become a Florida man after being spotted shopping at a Miami Publix on Thursday.
Catching one of the most famous people on the planet in the act of "normal people things" can be shocking, so seeing Messi at Publix with a cart full of America's finest sugary cereal options created an uproar on social media.
The star stopped to take some pictures with fans while on the shopping spree with his family. Imagine going out to get a gallon of milk or a loaf of bread and coming home with a selfie with a legend.
Fun fact: Publix is a sponsor for Inter Miami. The market has a sandwich named after the MLS team, called the Inter Miami Club Sub. It comes with special Boar's Head Salsalito turkey breast, bacon, avocado, lettuce, tomato and cilantro lime dressing. The customer also gets a choice of sub roll.
Messi's viral trip to his local Publix earned both the Florida chain and High Noon — a vodka seltzer company — each an estimated $3.3 million in brand exposure and marketing, according to
.@Publix and @highnoonsunsips each received about $3.3 MILLION in brand exposure based on Lionel Messi's viral Thursday night trip to the grocery store.

love the fact that messi has no firm grasp of his own fame and was just walking around a publix thinking he’d be unrecognizable

Messi went to Publix. Sources say he did not get a Pub Sub. Epic fail by the GOAT. He’ll learn.

Messi showing up at a random Publix is a way better unveiling than a huge concert with Shakira and Bad Bunny. Messi is for the people.

📸More pictures of Messi doing grocery at a Publix supermarket. So where will he be tomorrow night, a nearby Walmart? I would camp outside that store every week because he will run out of milk for sure.😭 pic.twitter.com/nMoEG2gOPX
