After fighting back from 2-0 down at Anfield to draw with Premier League leaders Arsenal last weekend, Jurgen Klopp and his Liverpool squad will be desperate to take all three points on offer as they travel to Elland Road on Monday.

That comeback should inspire confidence but there have already been plenty of false dawns for the Reds this season as seen recently when they followed up their 7-0 demolition of Manchester Untied with a 1-0 loss to struggling Bournemouth.

Leeds United face an uphill relegation battle at present, and this could be a priceless scalp here as they look to fight off the drop. However, they were embarrassed by Crystal Palace last time out as the London side ran out 5-1 victors in West Yorkshire, which won't give Leeds fans much hope for this latest outing.

For all your betting needs ahead of this Premier League clash, The Sporting News has you covered.

Leeds United vs Liverpool odds

The bookmakers have made Liverpool substantial favourites for this Premier League clash, most likely due to Leeds' poor defensive form of late.

As mentioned above, despite leading Palace 1-0 early on last time out in the league, Javi Gracia's side capitulated in the second half as they conceded four times in a 5-1 loss to a fellow relegation-threatened outfit.

Couple that with Liverpool's impressive comeback versus Arsenal where in truth they should have ended up taking the victory and it's easy to see why the visitors are priced at just -130 with BetMGM to win this Monday night matchup.

Leeds United vs Liverpool team news

Expect to see changes in the Leeds lineup following their shock 5-1 home loss to Palace last time out in Premier League action. One positive from that match was that there were no new injury concerns, though Tyler Adams, Max Wober, and Stuart Dallas remain sidelined.

As well as their positive comeback last time out, Liverpool also find themselves buoyed by the return of several key players of late. Virgil van Dijk and Thiago returned against Arsenal, while Luis Diaz could feature here for the visitors. Naby Keita has missed the past two games with a muscle injury, while Stefan Bajcetic and Calvin Ramsay remain long-term absentees.

Leeds United vs Liverpool key stats

  • Since the beginning of the 2001/02 season, these two sides have faced off 13 times, though Leeds have won just one of those meetings.

  • Liverpool have lost just once across their past 13 visits to Elland Road.

  • With another goal here, Mohamed Salah would tie Robbie Fowler on seven goals in this fixture's history.

Leeds United vs Liverpool prediction

  • Moneyline lean: Draw (+300)
  • Against the spread lean: Leeds +0.5 (+120)
  • Score prediction: Leeds United 1-3 Liverpool

Although Liverpool have suffered a rollercoaster of a Premier League campaign in terms of winning form, we're expecting them to follow up their encouraging display against Arsenal with a victory here.

Things might be different if Klopp's side were travelling elsewhere but a trip to Elland Road for the Reds looks like it's come at an ideal time given Leeds' woeful defensive problems of late.

As such, we expect Salah in particular to continue his fine goalscoring form, while the backup of Cody Gapko, Darwin Nunez and Roberto Firmino could strike at any time.

Leeds United vs Liverpool best bet

  • Pick: Over 2.5 goals
  • Odds: -170 (BetMGM)

At -170 with BetMGM, there might not be much value in this selection of over 2.5 goals scored, but this match feels almost certain to achieve that feat.

On their day, Liverpool can still find the back of the net with complete ease as seen with their 7-0 victory over rivals Man United of late and that comeback against Arsenal last time out. Add to that the fact that Leeds haven't kept a clean sheet for seven straight Premier League games, and a free-scoring Liverpool display looks likely. The visitors have also netted at least once on their past nine visits to Elland Road.

Additionally, Leeds have also netted in each of their previous five Premier League outings and, given the visitors' own lack of defensive solidity of late, the Whites are also likely to strike at least once here.

Leeds United vs Liverpool flier bet

  • Pick: Mohamed Salah to score first, Liverpool to win
  • Odds: +450 (BetMGM)

With 13 Premier League goals across 29 outings this campaign, Salah is still scoring at a decent rate even if it is lower than in previous seasons with Liverpool.

Two of those strikes have come in recent weeks against Arsenal and Manchester City and as such, the Egyptian winger could make easy work of a Leeds backline that is playing with little confidence.

Add into the picture that Salah has also netted seven goals across five prior meetings against the Yorkshire club and it's easy to see why we've picked this betting selection, which is priced at +450 with BetMGM.
