On January 12, 2024 the 18th edition of the AFC Asian Cup is set to kick off in Qatar. Asia's premier national football tournament will see 24 teams participating in a bid to secure continental glory.
This tournament was initially scheduled to take place in 2023, but due to the host nation Qatar's participation in the CONCACAF Gold Cup, and the oppressive temperatures during the summer months, it has been shifted to January 2024.
India will be participating in the Asian Cup for just the fifth time, after appearances in 1964, 1984, 2011 and 2019. The Blue Tigers have been handed a difficult group, alongside Australia, Uzbekistan and Syria. They will kick off their campaign against Australia on Saturday, January 13.
