Harry Kane is set to finally depart his boyhood club Tottenham Hotspur and the Premier League with reports he's agreed to join German power Bayern Munich on a four-year deal.
The Athletic's David Ornstein reported on August 10 that the England captain gave the green light to the transfer just days ahead of Tottenham's first match of the 2023/24 English Premier League season at Brentford (Aug. 13).
The move to join Bayern Munich is seen as an attempt by the 30-year-old player to win major trophies following years of frustration with Spurs. Meanwhile, his longtime club will also earn a sizable transfer fee with one year left on the star forward's contract.
If Kane does finalise a move to Germany, he will put a cap on his Premier League goal tally, unless he returns to England's top-flight in future, with his current career haul leaving him short of the overall Premier League top scorer record.

How many Premier League goals is Harry Kane behind Alan Shearer?
Former Newcastle United and England striker Alan Shearer has held the Premier League goal record since 2006 with an incredible tally of 260 top-flight goals scored.
Kane holds the record for the most Premier League goals scored for one club with 213 league goals for Spurs but he is 47 behind Shearer for the main record.

All-time top Premier League scorers
Shearer has remained untouched at the top of the list since his retirement, with Wayne Rooney and Sergio Aguero both coming close to challenging him.
Kane's superb form with Tottenham, following his Premier League debut in 2012 has put him within touching distance of Shearer, but a transfer away from England would make that quest a remote possibility.

Harry Kane Tottenham career, goals, trophies
Kane made his Spurs debut in the 2011/12 Europa League before joining EFL Championship side Millwall on loan for the second half of the season.
He eventually made his Tottenham Premier League debut in the opening fixture of the 2012/13 campaign before loan spells with Norwich City and Leicester City.
Manager Andre Villas-Boas looked to permanently bring him into the first team from the start of 2013/14 and Kane has not looked back since.
From 2014/15 onwards, Kane has been ever-present in the Spurs attack with six of the following nine campaigns featuring 20+ Premier League goals scored, and three Golden Boot awards.

Kane's 213 Premier League goals have been bolstered to 280 across all competitions as he overtook club legend Jimmy Greaves as Spurs' all-time leading goal scorer in 2023.
However, the other side of the story is one of team struggles for Kane, with no trophy won with club or country.
Spurs lost 2-0 to Chelsea in the 2015 EFL Cup final, and 1-0 to Manchester City in the 2021 edition, plus a Champions League final loss to Liverpool in 2019.
For England, Kane won the Golden Boot at the 2018 FIFA World Cup, as England lost to Croatia in the semifinals, before a penalty shootout to Italy in the final of Euro 2021.
He currently holds the England goal record with 58 goals for the Three Lions.

Harry Kane transfer latest
The latest reports have Kane accepting a transfer to Bayern Munich, after the two clubs agreed an £86.4m/$110m fee to bring him to the Allianz Arena accepted.
It's a positive development for Spurs, who were determined to ensure Kane did not leave for free when his contract expired in June 2024.
The final choice was left to the player, who reports indicate has given the green light for the move to happen.
