France at Euro 2024: Teams in group, fixtures, schedule, path to final in Germany image

France will be looking to bounce back at Euro 2024 after Didier Deschamps' side lost the 2022 FIFA World Cup final to Argentina on penalties after bowing out at the Round of 16 of Euro 2020.

Les Bleus secured a first world title since 1998 as they lifted the World Cup in Russia in 2018, but Deschamps' team have been unable to secure a major trophy since then — although they have come extremely close.

An unbeaten qualifying campaign showed just how ruthless they can be under Deschamps' leadership, and they have added more stars to the squad since that final defeat in Qatar, including Paris Saint-Germain's teenage sensation Warren Zaire-Emery.

Zaire-Emery's club teammate Kylian Mbappe has also taken over the captaincy in 2023 and he will be vital to their chances of success in Germany.

The draw for the group phase took place on December 2, 2023 and here is how France's tournament will look.

France Euro 2024 path to the final

Finishing first or second in this group is not likely to make a huge difference in terms of the difficulty for France in the Round of 16.

If they win their group, Les Bleus will face the runners-up of Group F, likely to be Turkey or Czechia.

If they finish second, they will meet the runners-up of Group E, which will likely be Slovakia, Romania, or Ukraine winners.

The former scenario would likely pit the against Belgium in the quarterfinals; the latter could see them face Portugal at that stage.
