Manchester United, now out of the Europa League and not a factor in the Premier League title race, see their last chance for more silverware as they match up against Brighton in the FA Cup semifinals at Wembley Stadium.

The Red Devils lifted the EFL Cup earlier in the year, but have nosedived since, with injuries and poor form taking their toll. They were battered by Sevilla in the second leg of their Europa League quarterfinal, pounded 3-0 to dump out of Europe.

Brighton, conversely, are in excellent form, sitting seventh in the Premier League table and fighting for a European place of their own.

The Seagulls have never won a major trophy in their history, with their best finish in the FA Cup being their semifinal appearance in 2019, falling to eventual champions Man City 1-0.

Brighton vs Man United prediction, odds

  • Moneyline lean: Brighton (+135)
  • Handicap lean: Brighton -0.5 (+120)
  • Score prediction: Brighton 3-1 Man United

Brighton come into this neutral site match as favourites against a slipping Manchester United side, quite the accomplishment for what has been a great campaign. They seamlessly transitioned from Graham Potter to Roberto De Zerbi, and are becoming a force in the English top flight.

While the Red Devils are down at the moment, this pick is more about how underrated Brighton are this season than how much United are struggling, although that does factor in as well.

Few people realize that Brighton are playing at a Champions League caliber level this season, third in the Premier League in expected points. They've been hosed by refereeing decisions on numerous occasions and have been held back by some poor goalkeeping as well. Yet this team on the whole has been exceptionally good, battering good teams on a regular basis.

Brighton vs Man United best bet

    • Pick: Brighton over 1.5 goals
    • Odds: +100 (BetMGM)

Brighton are a goalscoring machine under Roberto De Zerbi, who is tactically taking the Premier League by storm creating transition play from possessional dominance. Since the start of 2023, Brighton have put up 2.4 xG on Liverpool, 3.82 xG on Brentford, 1.48 xG on Spurs, and 2.52 xG on Chelsea.

These two teams last met in the first match of the Premier League season, and Brighton deservingly won on a pair by Pascal Gross. That was a game in which United had their full squad, which they very much don't in this match. With Raphael Varane and Lisandro Martinez out, and Harry Maguire struggling, it's hard to see United keeping Brighton off the scoresheet for multiple goals.

Brighton vs Man United prop bet

    • Pick: Alexis Mac Allister to score or assist
    • Odds: +175 (BetMGM)

Pascal Gross has been the main chance creator for Brighton over the past few weeks, reflected in his -105 mark to score or assist. Unfortunately for him, the loss of Tariq Lamptey and Joel Veltman to injury will likely force Gross to deputise in defence. He can still create from that spot, but others will have to step in.

The man to benefit most should be Alexis Mac Allister, who has seen his production drop some as Gross takes a central role. The Argentine hasn't provided a goal contribution for the last three league games, but has still been a key contributor in front of goal, and here should come through for Brighton.
