Brazil final squad, starting lineup for Copa America 2024: Neymar misses out for Selecao image

Copa America 2024 represents a chance for Brazil to reclaim their status as the kings of the continent.

The Selecao endured a difficult end to 2023 as they lost three consecutive 2026 World Cup qualifiers, including at home to world champions Argentina.

However, a win over England at Wembley Stadium and a thrilling draw with Spain during the March international break gave some new impetus to a group being led by Dorival Junior, who was confirmed as head coach in January this year.

Although Brazil are not quite at the level of previous major tournaments — for one thing, star forward Neymar has been left out of the squad due to injury — they will still be one of the leading contenders for glory at this summer's tournament in the United States.

Dorival Junior has named that squad, and we've had a go at predicting Brazil's first XI of the competition as well as providing you the full squad.

Neymar misses out on Brazil Copa America squad

Neymar will not be back in time from his serious knee injury to play for Brazi at the Copa America this summer.

He was injured playing for Al Hilal in the Saudi Pro League back in September last year but that does mean a space in the forward department has opened up for a certain someone...

Endrick has been selected in Brazil squad

He's not quite a wildcard any more, but Palmeiras' teenage sensation Endrick is headed to his first international tournament after his senior tournament debut goal against England at Wembley in March.

Endrick is a 17-year-old striker playing for Palmeiras and he has captured the attention of the football world and major European clubs since the age of 15 with his incredible exploits in youth football.

The Brazilian's reputation grew further when it emerged Real Madrid and Chelsea were among a host of prominent clubs monitoring the Verdao star.

But it was Madrid who went and secured his signature in 2022 as the club paid the release clause of €60 million (£52m/$64m) with €35m due up front and a further €25m in add-ons.

Endrick is yet to move to the Spanish capital because of FIFA regulations that state he is unable to formally become a part of the Madrid squad until he turns 18 on July 21, 2024.

Predicted lineup for Brazil's first Copa America 2024 match

Brazil begin their Copa America 2024 campaign against Costa Rica on Monday, June 24 at SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles, California. The match is due to kick off at 7 p.m. ET.

Brazil projected starting lineup (4-3-3, right to left): Alisson (GK) — Danilo, Gabriel, Marquinhos, Wendell — Paqueta, Luiz, Guimaraes — Rodrygo, Endrick, Vinicius Junior.

When is the Brazil squad announced for Copa America 2024?

While coaches can announce their squad whenever they like, the final 23-man roster has to be named before June 12, 2024, according to CONMEBOL's official rules.
