Brazil vs. Paraguay expected lineups, starting 11, team news: Will Dorival make attacking changes for 2nd Copa America 2024 game? image

Brazil face Paraguay in their second Group D match at the Copa America 2024 at Allegiant Stadium on Saturday, with both teams searching for their first win of the tournament.

Paraguay began their campaign with a 2-1 loss to Colombia. Two quick goals from Daniel Munoz and Jefferson Lerma in the first half put Paraguay on the back foot, and although Brighton & Hove Albion midfielder Julio Enciso pulled one back in the second, it was not enough for a comeback. A loss on Matchday 2 would now eliminate them from the competition.

Brazil, on the other hand, had a frustrating 0-0 draw with Costa Rica. Despite dominating possession and having 19 shots, Dorival Junior's side failed to score. A win against Paraguay would put Brazil in a strong position in the group, potentially even topping it if Costa Rica manage a result against Colombia, but they are under pressure to produce a more enterprising performance.

Brazil, nine-time Copa America champions, hope to bounce back and secure that crucial win, and their previous meeting with Paraguay ended in a 4-0 triumph, giving them confidence heading into this match.

But will Dorival be tempted into making any changes?

Brazil vs. Paraguay starting lineups & team news

Brazil make few changes to the starting XI as Raphinha, Paqueta and Vinicius remain as the three behind Rodrygo who starts up top.

Alisson is the No.1 keeper and starts behind Danilo, Militao, Marquinhos and Arana

Brazil (4-2-3-1, right to left): Alisson (GK) — Danilo, Militao, Marquinhos, Arana — Guimaraes, Luiz — Raphinha, Paqueta, Vinicius — Rodrygo.

Paraguay will need to be cautious with Gustavo Velazquez and Andres Cubas, both of whom are on yellow cards and risk missing their final group match with another caution.

Rodrigo Morinigo made his debut as goalkeeper and holds his place, while Damian Bobadilla earns his third cap against Paraguay. Enciso, the Brighton man, scored his first international goal and will be a key player to watch.

Paraguay (4-3-3): Morinigo (GK) — Espinoza, Alderete, Balbuena, Velazquez — Bobadilla, Cubas, Villasanti — Enciso, Arce, Almiron.
