Barcelona vs Osasuna prediction, odds, betting tips and best bets for La Liga match on Tuesday image

The La Liga season is easing towards an elementary finish at the top of the table as a dominant Barcelona side push towards confirming their league title with a home match against Osasuna.

Barcelona sit 11 points clear of rivals Real Madrid at the summit, and while they've won just two of their last five matches, they've faced little opposition in the standings as those behind them continue to falter. Robert Lewandowski is pushing for a La Liga scoring title as well, although that's less of a foregone conclusion as he faces stiff competition from Real Madrid's Karim Benzema.

Osasuna, meanwhile, sit eighth in the league table but are five points back of a European place and are faltering in recent weeks, beaten by Real Sociedad last time out and barely beating basement-dwellers Cadiz the match prior.

This match is, however, a precursor to the Copa del Rey final for Osasuna, as they are slated to face Real Madrid on Saturday. Knowing a trophy will be at stake in that match, they may rest players or otherwise have one eye on the weekend.

  • Handicap lean (spread): Barcelona -1.5 (-165)
  • Score prediction: Barcelona 2-0 Osasuna

Barcelona are marching towards the La Liga title in dominant fashion, proving defensively ironclad in the process. They have conceded just two goals in their last six matches, both coming against Rayo Vallecano two outings back.

Thus, the Blaugrana are not only heavy favourites at home, but they also are expected to keep Osasuna at bay in front of goal.

    Barcelona vs Osasuna: best bet

    • Pick: Correct score bands — 1-0, 2-0, 3-0
    • Odds: +120 (BetMGM)

Barcelona have nothing else to play for the remainder of the season except the league title, and it shows. As poor as Barcelona have been across most other competitions this season, they've been summarily dominant in league play.

While selecting Barcelona to win to nil comes in at a measly -155, you can get a one, two, or three-goal win via clean sheet for much better value. Barcelona haven't blown many teams out this season, but have been sensational defensively, with an outlandish five clean sheets across their last six games.

    Barcelona vs Osasuna prop bet

    • Pick: Under 3.5 total cards
    • Odds: +150 (FanDuel)

Refereeing this match is Javier Iglesias Villanueva, who is one of the more lenient officials in the Spanish top flight. While Spanish officials love to dish out cards (Villanueva is averaging over four yellow cards a match), there's reason to believe this match will come in below average.

There's little for both teams to realistically play for, and thus there will be less emotional needle compared to other games. Osasuna, at 2.6 cards per game, are not an overtly foul-happy team, and consequently, Barcelona's 380 fouls won this season rank them 14th in the Spanish top flight, a surprisingly low total for a team that hangs onto possession and leads the standings.

Last time this official took charge of an Osasuna game, he dished out five cards (against Valencia in mid-March), but the match before that he only cautioned them twice (against Almeria in September). Consequently, his one Barcelona match this year saw him give Xavi's side just one caution. This is very doable at plus odds.
