Arsenal cash in their game in hand with revenge on their minds as they host Everton at the Emirates for a midweek Premier League clash.

The Gunners sit just two points above Manchester City in the Premier League table, but they hold a game in hand, which they now look to take advantage of to rebuild the cushion they saw evaporate over the past month.

That cushion was as high as seven points, but that came crashing down largely thanks to just their second league defeat of the season at the hands of Everton in late January, coming in Sean Dyche's managerial debut with the Toffees.

While the luster has come off Everton somewhat since then, with the Toffees still amidst a relegation scrap, they remain a far more viable side under Dyche, and Arsenal will be well aware of the dangers presented in this match. They also know what there is to gain, as the Premier League title race will take another twist at any result.

Arsenal vs Everton odds

Despite the result in the reverse fixture just weeks ago, the betting market is fully behind Arsenal as they chase a Premier League title, 1/3 favourites in some places. Everton, meanwhile, are upwards of 8/1 underdogs on the moneyline.

In fact, the game flow odds indicate the betting market is concerned Everton may not even be able to score. While the over is a slight favourite, both teams not to score is heavily weighted, meaning the betting market thinks Arsenal have a chance at hitting the total all on their own.

Arsenal vs Everton team news

The Gunners are in great form, and it's largely thanks to their overall health and lineup consistency. Gabriel Jesus remains out, but is eyeing a return in the coming weeks as he figures out when to start training with the team. Thomas Partey returned with a substitute appearance over the weekend and could be set to reclaim his place in midfield from Jorginho, who has done well in the former's absence. Mohamed Elneny is the only long-term absentee after knee surgery.

Everton's only confirmed absence is Andros Townsend, who continues to work his way back from an ACL injury and could be ready to return in early April. Dominic Calvert-Lewin is also likely to miss out, as it may be just a little early for his return from a hamstring injury. Nathan Patterson has a knock and could be held out, while James Garner is likely back.

Arsenal vs Everton key stats

  • Everton have won five of their last eight Premier League matches against Arsenal, securing a draw in one other, with just two defeats in that span.
  • Bukayo Saka has completed more one-on-one take-ons (49) than any other Premier League player this season. He led the league through the month of February with 15.
  • At this point last season, Everton had 22 points through 24 matches, one more than they have this season.

Arsenal vs Everton prediction

  • Moneyline lean: Arsenal (-300)
  • Against the spread lean: Arsenal -1.5 (-110)
  • Score prediction: Arsenal 2-0 Everton

Yes, Arsenal lost to Everton last time out. Yes, the Gunners were battered in Sean Dyche's first game in charge. It was shocking then, and it'd be even more shocking here with Arsenal back in form and in the friendly Emirates Stadium confines.

Since that match, Everton were clobbered by Liverpool, won a tight relegation six-pointer with Leeds, and lost a shootout with Aston Villa. Sean Dyche should keep this Everton team afloat, and they're clearly better under his watch, but at the end of the day it's still a relegation-caliber squad against a back-in-form Arsenal side that won't be beaten twice.

Arsenal vs Everton: best bet

  • Pick: Arsenal to win to nil
  • Odds: -105 (BetMGM)

Everton are extremely poor at two things they will need at the Emirates on Wednesday: finishing chances and securing road results.

The Toffees are the lowest scoring team in the Premier League with just 17 goals this year, and only six of those have come on the road. While they can't seem to hit the target at home (11 goals on 16.85 xG and 11.58 xGOT), they hardly even create chances on the road, putting together just 8.98 xG away from Goodison Park.

Meanwhile, Arsenal are the second-best defensive side in the English top-flight this season, conceding just 25 goals in 25 matches. While 14 of those have come at home, they've been exceedingly unlucky with opponent finishing, as those 14 goals have come on just 11.14 xG and 8.39 xGOT (what the heck, Aaron Ramsdale?). Against one of the worst finishing teams, the Gunners should have no problem keeping a clean sheet here.

Arsenal vs Everton prop bet

  • Pick: Bukayo Saka anytime goalscorer
  • Odds: +185 (BetMGM)

In the defeat weeks ago to this Everton side, Saka was the lone bright spot for Arsenal, creating four chances for teammates while taking four shots himself. Since that match, he has picked up two goals and an assist, spring boarding himself back into the Premier League Player of the Season conversation.

Meanwhile, Everton left-back Vitalii Mykolenko has struggled of late. Only two players in the Premier League have been dribbled past more times (10) than Mykolenko. Those two players, Enzo Fernandez (12) and Stefan Bacetic (11) have significantly higher tackling volume, and a much higher success rate than Mykolenko's 44 per cent.

As much as I would like to take Saka to score or assist a goal, the odds at -135 are just too devoid of value, as assists are too difficult to accurately predict to be worth that big of a hit. Instead, pick Saka to get on the scoresheet and give Mykolenko another difficult afternoon.
