Aaron Ramsdale made headlines in December when he was seen riling up Leeds fans during Arsenal's Premier League victory over the Yorkshire-based club.

Speaking on the Fozcast - a podcast hosted by Watford's Ben Foster - the Arsenal goalkeeper recounted his interactions with the Leeds faithful at Elland Road that night.

"We're in the warm-up and I'm getting a bit [of flak from fans]," Ramsdale said.

"Honestly, I'm just singing away to Christmas songs at this point.

"I do my sets and then in between them ... [the stadium PA] goes 'can the people in the east stand stop abusing the Arsenal goalkeeper please', so they [the fans] all go 'he's gonna cry in a minute' and all this.

"Everyone's giving me dog's abuse and I'm there laughing my head off."

Arsenal went on the win the game 4-1, with Ramsdale on the receiving end of the majority of abuse from the home fans.

The shot-stopper isn't shy when it comes to stirring opposing supporters up, though.

He even made sure to grab some of the coins thrown at him to put in a savings jar at home.

"We [Arsenal] battered them [Leeds] in the first half.

"We score one... I run over to the Arsenal fans.

"Scored the second [goal] ... a little bit more.

"Scored the third [goal] ... that was full-on, send it.

"After the first [goal], there were a few bottles thrown, then some lighters, so I chucked them off to the side.

"Next thing I know, money started coming!

"There were one and two quids (pounds), and I collect two quids, so I grabbed those.

"I pick them up and put them on my towel, and at half time I grab it and run off."

Ramsdale received more of the same treatment from Leeds fans in the second half.

"Second half... a few more [coins] come.

"I come back in [to the changing rooms], and I'm speaking to Kalvin Phillips (Leeds player), and say 'your fans must be loaded... I've got 17 quid and I left some money out there!

The English goalkeeper was signed by Arsenal from Sheffield United in the summer transfer window for GBP£24 million (AUD$45 million) and has so far lived up to his price tag, picking up nine clean sheets in the Premier League and helping the Gunners move to fourth on the table.
