The Detroit Pistons announced on Wednesday that Blake Griffin underwent a successful arthroscopic debridement of his left knee.
The team added that the six-time All-Star will "undergo an extended rehabilitation period." There is no timetable for his return.

Chris Haynes of Yahoo Sports reported on Tuesday that Griffin was visiting a specialist in Los Angeles this week and that season-ended surgery on his left knee was being considered.
Due to the injury, Griffin has appeared in only 18 games this season. He's averaging 15.5 points and 4.7 rebounds on 35.2 percent shooting from the field, all of which are the lowest marks of his career.
The Pistons have struggled as a result, currently sitting in the 11th spot in the Eastern Conference standings with a 13-24 record.
The Pistons traded for Griffin in January of 2018. He has two more years remaining on his contract, although the 2021-22 season is a player option worth $38.9 million.
