The Denver Nuggets have waived shooting guard Nick Young, the team announced today.

Young was signed with an injury hardship exception after injuries to Gary Harris, Paul Millsap and Will Barton, but with Millsap returning to the lineup against the Phoenix Suns yesterday, the Nuggets were forced to let go of Young.

President of Basketball Operations Tim Connelly released the following statement:

"We want to thank Nick for coming to Denver on such short notice to give us some relief with our injury issues. He immediately fit in with our group and did everything that was asked of him by being the great teammate and consummate pro that he is."

The 33-year-old appeared in four games for the Nuggets averaging 2.3 points in 9.3 minutes.

Last season, Young won a championship with the Golden State Warriors, appearing in 80 games, averaging 7.3 points per game.
