Jamal Murray has suffered an ACL tear in his left knee, the Denver Nuggets announced on Tuesday.

The Nuggets added that Murray will be out indefinitely.

The injury occurred in the closing seconds of Denver's loss to the Golden State Warriors on Monday. Following the game, ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski reported that the Nuggets were working to get Murray an MRI to "evaluate the severity of the knee injury."

Shams Charania of The Athletic adds that it's a season-ending injury for Murray. The 24-year-old was also poised to help Team Canada qualify for the Olympics this summer.

Murray was having the best season of his career prior to the injury. In 48 games, he averaged a career-best 21.2 points on 47.7 percent shooting from the field to go along with 4.8 assists and 4.0 rebounds. He played a big role in Denver's rise to fourth in the Western Conference standings with 18 games remaining before the playoffs.
