MORE: Nowitzki named to NBA 75th Anniversary Team
Nowitzki, who was selected by the Bucks with the No. 9 overall pick of the 1998 NBA Draft, was acquired by the Mavericks in a draft-night trade. After spending 21 seasons with the Mavericks franchise, Nowitzki retired following the 2018-19 NBA season.
His 21 seasons as a Maverick stand as an NBA record for the longest career spent entirely with one franchise, ahead of Kobe Bryant (20 seasons, Lakers), Tim Duncan (19 seasons, Spurs) and Udonis Haslem (19 seasons, Heat).
