Dallas Mavericks big man Dwight Powell exited Wednesday's game against the Los Angeles Clippers after suffering a right Achilles injury in the first quarter.
Powell drove to the basket and appeared to lose his footing as he took off, immediately going down in pain as play continued.
The Canadian went straight to the locker room with three minutes remaining in the quarter, avoiding putting any weight on his right leg. Minutes later, the Mavs confirmed he would not return.

Powell has emerged as a key cog in the Mavericks rotation this season, starting 37 games, with averages of 9.6 points and 5.7 rebounds in 27 minutes per contest.
His injury comes just as the Mavericks welcome back big man Kristaps Porzingis, who missed the past 10 games with right knee soreness.
