Legendary former Pakistani cricket Younis Khan is all set to become the new head coach of the men's national cricket team, according to journalist Shoaib Jatt.
A group of former cricketers, namely, Younis Khan, Mohammad Hafeez, Wahab Riaz and Sohail Tanvir met the chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Zaka Ashraf at Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore on Tuesday.

As per reports, the PCB were considering appointing either of Younis or Hafeez to be the next head of the men's Pakistan cricket team.

The board is also looking for a suitable candidate for the role of chief selector after former captain Inzamam-ul-Haq resigned from the post in between the 2023 Cricket World Cup.
Why are Pakistan looking for a new coach?
After a disastrous performance at the 2023 Cricket World Cup in India were Pakistan finished fifth with eight points from nine matches and crashed out of the tournament, PCB are in the lookout for a new head coach.
Till date, Director of Pakistan Cricket, Mickey Arthur was performing the duty of the team's head coach but during his stint, the team failed to qualify for the Asia Cup 2023 final and then failed to make the semi-finals of the Cricket World Cup.
