Ajinkya Rahane made a comeback to the Indian test team for the upcoming World Test Championship (WTC) final after a gap of 17 months.
As per a report from the Times of India, it was former Indian captain MS Dhoni who advised the Indian team management to pick Ajinkya Rahane in the 15-man squad for the WTC final against Australia.

Rahane, who last played a test match for India in January 2022, was dropped from the test team after the South Africa series. Thereafter he missed out on playing against Bangladesh and Australia before making a comeback.
The team management has also reportedly picked Sarfaraz Khan, Ishan Kisan, Ruturaj Gaikwad, Mukesh Kumar and Navdeep Saini as possible stand-by players for the one-off final.
Key Indian players missing out on the WTC final
The notable Indian players who are not a part of the Indian squad for the WTC final are Jasprit Bumrah, Rishabh Pant, Shreyas Iyer and Suryakumar Yadav.
While Bumrah, Pant and Iyer are out of action with injuries, Yadav has been dropped after making his test debut against Australia in the Border-Gavaskar trophy in February.
