With the Indian Premier League (IPL) coming to a close, all eyes will soon shift to the World Test Championship (WTC) Final between India and Australia, which will take place from June 7-11.
Like every other IPL season, this year's edition has also seen many young players make a name for themselves. One such player is Rajasthan Royals (RR) batsman Yashasvi Jaiswal who was RR's star performer this campaign, scoring 625 runs in 14 matches, including a wonderful century against Mumbai Indians (MI) in the 1000th IPL game.
His excellent batting performances have generated debated about whether it's time he is capped for India and represents the national team in the upcoming competitions.

WTC Final 2023: Yashasvi Jaiswal to replace Ruturaj Gaikwad
As reported by The Indian Express, Jaiswal is set to replace fellow batsmen Ruturaj Gaikwad in India's standby list for the WTC Final. This is due to Gaikwad unable to join the team before June 5 due to his wedding and India's Test coach Rahul Dravid wanting an immediate replacement.
"He (Jaiswal) will be joining the Indian team as Gaikwad has informed us that he won’t be able to fly due to his marriage. He would be able to join the team post-June 5. (But) Coach Rahul Dravid took a call, asking the selectors to pick a replacement. So, Jaiswal will now fly to London soon," a BCCI official told The Indian Express.
While there's no guarantee for Jaiswal to feature in the match itself, it will be a great opportunity for him to impress the national team's coaches.
