The second of the Women's Premier League (WPL) commenced on February 22. Last season's finalists Mumbai Indians Women (MI-W) and Delhi Capitals Women (DC-W) played the curtain-raiser at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bangalore.

The inaugural edition of WPL in 2023 was won by the Harmanpreet Kaur-led MI-W, who defeated DC-W. It was a highly successful tournament in which five teams participated, helping create more 'women's cricket' waves within the cricketing fraternity.
