India's upcoming tour of Australia is already generating excitement. After winning the last four Border-Gavaskar Test series, India is looking to continue their momentum for a fifth consecutive victory. This challenge requires a fully fit and experienced pace attack, and the focus is now on whether Mohammed Shami will be ready for the tour.
India's success in Australia will heavily rely on their fast bowlers. While Jasprit Bumrah is being rested to ensure he is fresh for the Tests, Shami's availability is also important.

Shami, who hasn't played since the 2023 ODI World Cup final, is a prominent bowler for the Indian team, especially in Australian conditions where pace is important.
What did Jay Shah assure on Mohammed Shami's return?
BCCI Secretary Jay Shah has expressed confidence that Shami will be fit and ready for the Australia tour.
"Our team is already well prepared. We have rested Jasprit Bumrah for a while now. Mohammad Shami is expected to be fit too. This is an experienced Indian side now. Seniors like Rohit and Kohli are fit. Shami will be there because he is experienced, and we need him in Australia," Shah stated in an interview with the Times of India.
The BCCI has plans to ease Shami back through the Ranji Trophy. According to Snehasish Ganguly, president of the Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB), Shami will need to prove his fitness by playing in the Ranji Trophy before he can be considered for the Australia tour.
"He (Shami) wants to be on that tour. But he has to play Ranji Trophy to prove himself," Ganguly stated.
As India prepares for the upcoming tour of Australia, the fitness of Mohammed Shami will be closely monitored. With the BCCI's backing and a strong desire to be part of the squad, Shami's presence could prove pivotal in India's aim to retain the Border-Gavaskar Trophy.
