Team India were crowned as the T20 World Cup 2024 champions upon their win over South Africa on Saturday. The Men in Blue won their second-ever T20 WC, after winning the inaugural edition in 2007.

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi was ecstatic after the Rohit Sharma-led side won the T20 World Cup 2024 in the West Indies. The PM also put out a video over his social media to congratulate the cricketers as well.

The PM has been highly supportive of the Indian Cricket Team. Even after the loss to Australia on November 19, 2023 in the ODI World Cup 2023 Final, Shri Narendra Modi went to console the players in the dressing room after the heartbreaking loss. 

The PM had then asked the players to meet him in person, at his residence in New Delhi. As per reports, the time has now come that the Indian Team would meet Mr. Modi.

Will Indian cricket team meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi?

According to media outlet News18 CricketNext, the BCCI have arranged a meeting between the Men in Blue and PM Narendra Modi. The Prime Minister also spoke to Head Coach Rahul Dravid, skipper Rohit Sharma, and star-batter Virat Kohli after the triumph on Saturday.

However, the likes of Sanju Samson, Yashasvi Jaiswal and Shivam Dube would not be present at the time of the meet, as the trio are travelling to Zimbabwe for the bilateral T20 series.

When will Indian team meet PM Narendra Modi?

Indian Team are currently stuck in Barbados due to a hurricane in the city. The airports in the Carribean destination are expected to remain shut until Tuesday afternoon. 

Team India will land in Delhi on their arrival in the country. They are expected to meet the PM as soon as they arrive in the homeland. However, the exact date and schedule of the meeting will be finalised only upon the arrival of the team to India.
