After the conclusion of the 2023 Cricket World Cup last weekend, the focus of the cricketing world has shifted to the game's premier franchise league; the Indian Premier League.
The mini-auction for next season's tournament is set to take place in December in Dubai, with some breakout stars from the World Cup expected to rake in the big bucks. Ahead of that, however, teams are expected to release their lists of released and retained players by 26 November.
The trade window has also opened, bringing with it a whole host of rumours. The most recent confirmed trade saw Avesh Khan and Devdutt Padikkal swap franchises, moving to Rajasthan Royals and Lucknow Super Giants respectively.
On Thursday, five-time champions Chennai Super Kings released an update on the status of one of their players.

Stokes had come out of ODI retirement to represent England at this year's World Cup, but despite having a deccent tournament, could not take them past seventh place in the points table. With a 5-match Test series against India before and the T20 World Cup following the IPL, he has chosen to prioritise his national side.
Stokes was acquired by CSK for 16.25 crore INR last year. He played just two matches for CSK, scoring 15 runs and bowling a total of just one over for 18 runs. Chances are he will be released this season in order to allow the team to reinvest funds elsewhere.
