The final of the SA20 League took place between Sunrisers Eastern Cape (SEC) and Durban Super Giants (DSG). After a month-long tournament involving six franchises, we finally we have a winner at our hands!
The final was the match-up between two of arguably the best teams in the second edition of the SA20 league. In the group stage, SEC finished first, followed by the DSG. Both teams were separated by a solitary point at the end of the 2024 SA20 group stage at 33-32.
The Sunrisers Eastern Cape entered the tournament as defending champions, having beaten the Pretoria Capitals (PC) in the inaugural edition of the league. The Durban Super Giants missed out on the playoffs last season, and finished fifth in the league stage.

Who won the SA20 2024?
The Sunrisers Eastern Cape won the SA20 2024. They beat the Durban Super Giants by 89 runs to claim their second-ever title. Even after two seasons, the SEC remain the only team to grab their hands on the SA20 Trophy.
The Eastern Cape have become the first team to defend their SA20 title. After winning the inaugural title in 2023, the SEC have done the double by beating DSG in the 2024 SA20 Final. As it turned out, the Eastern Cape were no match for the Super Giants on the night of the final.
Choosing to bat, the Sunrisers Eastern Cape put up a whopping 204-run total on the board. All players smashed the ball at the strike rate of at least 150. Tristan Stubbs hit a 30-ball 56 to end the innings on a high, after Tom Abell hit 55 runs off his blade.
Defending 205, the Durban Super Giants were bundled for 115 in 16 overs. Wiaan Mulder scored 38 off 27 deliveries, but was the lone warrior for his side. Marco Jansen bagged a fifer for SEC, while Daniel Worrall and Ottniel Baartman finished with two wickets each.
