The Pakistan Super League 2024 final took place between Islamabad United and Multan Sultans at the National Stadium in Karachi on Monday, March 18, 2024. 

The tournament began on February 17, 2024, with six teams fighting for the biggest accolade in domestic T20 Cricket in Pakistan. After a double round-robin group stage format and knockout rounds, the fans in Pakistan finally have something to cheer about in the grand finale.

The final was played between Multan Sultans and Islamabad United. Sultans finished at the top of the table, at the end of group-stage games, whereas United finished third. Finishing runners-up to Lahore Qalandars in the last two years, Multan Sultans hoped to get third-time-lucky!

Islamabad United, on the other hand, beat the likes of Lahore Qalandars and Peshawar Zalmi in the play-offs to get through to the PSL final.

Who won the PSL 2024 title?

Islamabad United beat Multan Sultans by 2 wickets to lift their third-ever PSL title. Islamabad United become the first franchise to win three PSL titles. The Sultans failed for the third-time-running. This is the first time that a franchise (Multan Sultans) has lost three consecutive PSL Finals.

Batting first, Mohammad Rizwan & Co. finished at 159/9 after 20 overs. Usman Khan was the star of the show for Sultans, with a 40-ball 57. He was ably supported by the man for the big nights, Iftikhar Ahmed. Ahmed scored a quick-fire 32 off just 20 deliveries. 

In response, Islamabad United, took it till the last over to claim their third PSL title. Opener Martin Guptill (50 off 32) gave the dream start to United in the run-chase, before Azam Khan kept the scoreboard ticking in the middle overs. 

Kushdil Shah and Iftikhar Ahmed picked two wickets each for Multan, but it wasn't meant to be. The inaugural champions, are also the newly-crowned champions.
