Australia's World Cup-winning captain, Pat Cummins is the captain of Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) for IPL 2024.
Cummins created a splash at the IPL 2024 auction as he completed the move to Sunrisers Hyderabad. He broke the record of Sam Curran, to become the highest-paid player in the history of the competition before being overtaken by Aussie teammate Mitchell Starc, who became the most expensive player in IPL history.

Cummins made his IPL debut for Kolkata Knight Riders in 2014. He also represented KKR in his next stints in 2021 and 2022, when he last played in the IPL. Between his stints for the Knight Riders, Cummins also represented the Delhi Daredevils in IPL 2017.
A World Cup-winning captain, Cummins has never been a sure-shot success in the IPL. With SRH taking a punt on the Aussie, the franchise owners would hope Cummins comes worthy for the Orange Army, without the pressure of the price-tag.
