Sai Sudharsan has been a revelation for Gujarat Titans in the ongoing edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL).

He has scored 176 runs from five IPL 2023 matches to date.

He burst onto the scene this year when he won the Man of the Match award against Delhi Capitals for a stellar inning of 64 runs off 48 balls.

Sudharsan has been a part of the GT squad since last season and had appeared in five matches in IPL 2022 scoring 145 runs.

Sai Sudharsan was born on October 15, 2001, in Chennai. He hails from the state of Tamil Nadu in India. 

Which Ranji Trophy team does Sai Sudharsan play for?

Sai Sudharsan made his debut for Tamil Nadu in Ranji Trophy on December 13, 2022, his ODI debut in the Vijay Hazare Trophy on December 8, 2021, and his T20 debut in Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy on November 4, 2021.

Who is Sai Sudharsan? Five facts about the Gujarat Titans youngster

  1. Hails from a sporting family: Sudharsan comes from a family that has a strong sporting background. His father Bharadwaj was an international athlete who represented India in the South Asian Games. His mother Usha Bharadwaj was a national level Volleyball player and represented Tamil Nadu in the sport.
     
  2. Breakthrough in TNPL: Sudharsan was picked by Tamin Nadu Premier League (TNPL) side Chepauk Super Gillies in 2019 but it was not until 2021 that he made his debut for Lyca Kovai Kings. In his first season, the southpaw scored 358 runs in eight innings and recorded a strike rate of 143.77.
     
  3. A part-time bowler: Apart from being a hard hitter, Sudharsan can also swing his arm as a part-time bowler when required. He even took a wicket against Bengal in a Vijay Hazare Trophy game during the 2021/22 season.
     
  4. IPL debut: The 21-year-old made his IPL debut in 2022 against Punjab Kings. He scored 35 off 30 balls as GT beat PK by six wickets.
     
  5. First Class debut: The youngster made his first-class debut for Tamil Nadu in the 2022/23 Ranji Trophy season against Hyderabad. He appeared in seven matches in the season scoring 576 runs. He scored two centuries and a half-century during the season.
