Prabhsimran Singh has been a breakout star for Punjab Kings (PBKS) so far this IPL.

The 22-year-old wicketkeeper-batsman caught the attention when he scored a blistering 60 off 34 against Rajasthan Royals (RR), which laid the foundation for the massive total of 197 that Punjab posted in that match.

Prabhsimran Singh hails from the state of Punjab in India. He was born on August 10, 2000, in Patiala.

  1. Hails from a sporting family: Prabhsimran comes from a family that has a strong sporting background. His uncle Satvinder Singh was a handball player and his cousin Anmolpreet Singh is a professional cricketer who plays for Punjab and Sunrisers Hyderabad in IPL.
     
  2. India U23: The wicketkeeper-batsman made his List A debut for the India U23 side at the 2018 ACC Emerging Teams Asia Cup. India finished runners-up in the tournament.
     
  3. Bough for 4.8 crores!: At the 2018 IPL auction Punjab Kings bought Prabhsimran for a whopping INR 4.8 crores. His cousin Anmolpreet went to Mumbai Indians for INR 80 lakhs in the same auction.
     
  4. IPL debut: The 22-year-old made his IPL debut in 2019 against Sunrisers Hyderabad. He scored 16 off 17 balls as SRH beat PBKS by 45 runs.
     
  5. A century on First Class debut: The youngster made his first-class debut for Punjab in the 2021/22 Ranji Trophy season against Himachal Pradesh. Singh scored a century on his debut as the match ended in a tie.
