Chris Gayle, Ab de Villiers, MS Dhoni, Kieron Pollard, Andre Russell, Hardik Pandya. The Indian Premier League has been the home to some of the most lethal T20 batsmen ever. And the list is very, very long.
The aforementioned names are just a small group of players who have adorned the IPL with their ostentatious batting. And they have indeed been a treat to watch over the years.
Sixes are not just beneficial to the batsman and the batting team, but they also serve as a delightful sight for the spectators inside the stadium and to the people watching the games from the comfort of their homes.
Batting as an art has come a long way, with batsman reinventing themselves in order to maximise their run-scoring capabilities. Take Ab de Villiers, renowned in the cricketing fraternity as Mr. 360°, for example.

Who has hit the longest six in IPL 2023?
Royal Challengers Bangalore skipper Faf du Plessis, who has been in terrific form this season and is currently the Orange Cap holder, has hit the longest six of this year’s IPL.
On April 10, RCB welcomed Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) to the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium. LSG opted to field first after winning the toss. RCB posted 212-2 on the board, with Faf scoring an unbeaten 79 off 46 deliveries.
On the fourth ball of the 15th over of the innings, bowled by leg-spinner Ravi Bishnoi, Faf made the ball disappear. Literally!
Bishnoi bowled a poor delivery by bowling a short ball. It was an absolute gift for the South African, and he gracefully accepted it. He rocked back in his crease on the backfoot and struck the ball with such venom that it went out of the stadium. At 115m, this is the longest six in the IPL so far.
