Who are the youngest players to win IPL?
1) Ravindra Jadeja (19 years 178 days)
The hero of the 2023 IPL Final, Jadeja is also the youngest-ever cricketer to win the tournament. He won the competition in its inaugural year with Rajasthan Royals. The Royals defeated his current side Chennai Super Kings to win the championship. While he has made more of an impact in the League after winning the trophy in his first-ever season, the CSK veteran showed signs of the player he will become, often coming in as a finisher for his side, a role he has perfected over the years.
2) Rahul Chahar (19 years 281 days)
The current Punjab Kings (PBKS) star won the IPL with Mumbai Indians in 2019 in his second season. This made him the only other teenager to win the trophy apart from Jadeja in 2008. Chahar was crucial for MI as they won their fourth trophy, taking 13 wickets in as many games while maintaining an impressive economy of 6.55 throughout the tournament.
3) Matheesha Pathirana (20 years 161 days)
Labelled 'baby Malinga' by fans as his bowling style is similar to that of MI legend and fellow Sri Lankan Lasith Malinga, Pathirana was a revelation for CSK during the 2023 campaign. Despite his age, skipper MS Dhoni entrusted him to bowl the death overs, and he repaid his captain's faith in him by taking 19 wickets in 12 games as the Super Kings won their fifth trophy.
4) Mustafizur Rahman (20 years 266 days)
Rahman was part of Sunrisers Hyderabad's (SRH) 2016 success story, winning the tournament in his debut season. The Bangladeshi bowler did not take to long to adapt to the league, and made SRH's impressive bowling lineup, taking 17 wickets in 16 games with an economy rate of 6.90.
