In the first match of the series, the Jasprit Bumrah-led side beat the hosts by 2 runs (D/L method) and in the second match, India got the better of Ireland by 33 runs.
If India manage to win the third and final match of the series, it will be the fifth time in history that the Indian cricket team will do 'whitewash' in a T20I series with three or more games.

The Indian cricket team have 'whitewashed' a series on four occasions in the past, twice against West Indies and once each against Australia and Sri Lanka.
India's first 'whitewashed' series win was against Australia in January 2016 when they clinched a three-match series 3-0.
To date, India have played 206 T20I matches out of which they have won 131 games, lost 66, tied 4, and five matches ended without a result. They boast a win percentage of 63.23.
