The Indian Premier League (IPL) started with an absolute bang when New Zealand wicketkeeper-batsman Brendon McCullum scored an unbeaten 158 against Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB).
Heck, Michael Hussey made it two centuries in the two opening games of the IPL when he scored an unbeaten 116 off just 54 balls against Kings XI Punjab (now known as Punjab Kings) at the PCA Stadium. It was a dream start to the tournament.
Although there were eight teams at the inception of the IPL, the total number of teams that have played so far is 15, with 10 of those teams currently playing.

Of those 15 teams, only 11 teams have had centurions. Gujarat Lions, Kochi Tuskers Kerala, Pune Warriors India, teams that are now defunct, did not have any player scoring a century while representing them, while Gujarat Titans (GT), a team added to the IPL ahead of the 2022 edition and the current defending champions, haven’t had any player score a century for them either, with Shubman Gill registering the highest individual score of 96.
Which IPL team has players scoring the most centuries for them?
When your team has players like Chris Gayle, Virat Kohli, and Ab de Villiers for the better part of a decade, runs will come in plentiful supply. So will centuries.
RCB have had players score a century 15 different times, the most for any IPL franchise. It is a bit ironic when you consider that they haven’t won an IPL trophy yet (Punjab Kings are the only other team to have not won an IPL).
