Steve Smith scored his 31st Test century on the second day of the World Test Championship final against India to put Australia in the driver's seat.
This was also the ninth century of the former Australian captain against India. He has gone past the tally of Virat Kohli (8) and has now the most number of centuries among active cricketers in Australia versus India games.

Overall Sachin Tendulkar has scored the most number of hundreds (11) in the history of Australia versus India Test matches.
Tendulkar and Smith are followed by Virat Kohli, Sunil Gavaskar and Ricky Ponting eight centuries each.
Other than Smith and Kohli, Cheteshwar Pujara is the only other active batsman to feature in the list of the top 10 batsmen with the most centuries in Australia-India Test matches.
