Mumbai Indians are one of the most successful franchises in the Indian Premier League history who are widely supported across the globe.

The Mukesh Ambani-owned franchise were the first team to win the IPL title five times until Chennai Super Kings matched their tally last season by beating Gujarat Titans in the final.

MI reached massive heights under the leadership of current India captain Rohit Sharma, who was in charge of the team since 2013 until 2023.

After Hardik Pandya re-joined the team from GT in December 2023, the franchise named the all-rounder as the team's leader replacing Sharma at the helm.

MI begin their journey in IPL 2024 on March 24, as they take on former champions GT at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.

Has Rohit Sharma joined MI camp?

While MI began their pre-tournament camp on Saturday, captain Rohit Sharma did not attend the camp on Day 1 in Mumbai.

However, Mumbai Indians made an announcement on X (formerly Twitter) on Monday, March 18, giving fans the news that they had been waiting for.

"𝗪𝗢𝗛 𝗔𝗔 𝗚𝗔𝗬𝗔… 𝗥𝗢 𝗔𝗔 𝗚𝗔𝗬𝗔!" the caption for the video posted by MI read. The music in the video is from the famous pan-India blockbuster K.G.F. 2, in which superstar Yash also made his entrance in the movie as the popular character 'Rocky Bhai'. It's safe to say that the music matched the occasion in the video.

There are also a few other references to Rohit's famous on-field dialogues. "Woh jo garden mein ghumne nahi deta," one child can he heard saying to the other one in the video. "Arey bhai, zyaada hero mat bann," he added.🔥

When will Rohit Sharma join MI for IPL 2024?

Rohit arrived for the MI pre-season training camp on March 18.
