Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) have not announced the Pakistan squad for the upcoming ICC T20I World Cup. With the tournament kicking off on June 02, the deadline for the nations to submit their 15-member squad was May 01, 2024. Moreover, the teams can tweak the squad combinations until May 25, a week before the tournament starts.
The PCB intend to announce their squad before the final deadline on May 25. The Green Shirts have had a tough time surrounding injuries and performances of players, ever since the 2023 ODI World Cup.
Pakistan failed to beat a depleted New Zealand side at home, in a five-match T20I series. India's arch-rivals have asked for more time from the ICC, before they announce their squad for the event in the United States.

When will PCB announce Pakistan squad for T20 World Cup?
Pakistan are expected to announce their squad for the upcoming T20I World Cup, right before the final deadline of May 25. The PCB is expected to name their fifteen for the tournament on May 23 or May 24.
The reason they cited for the delay was injuries and form to certain key players, who are in contention to make it to the flight to the USA in June. The likes of Mohammad Rizwan, Azam Khan, and Haris Rauf, who are important members of the T20I setup, are carrying injuries for the time being.
With player form being certain criteria for squad selection, the players are bound to be judged on their performances in the upcoming bilateral series against Ireland, followed by their neighbours, England.
The Pakistan Board and selectors will announce the squad after the first T20I against England. Pakistan will play their inaugural match against England on May 22, 2024 - two days before the fixed deadline.

What did PCB say about the delay in squad announcement for the T20 World Cup?
A source close to the Pakistan Cricket Board stated how all the participating nations have the room to tweak their squads before May 25. Pakistan are bound to announce their squad before the same date and will adhere to the deadline.
It (delay) doesn't matter because all these teams can change heir entire squad by 24th May after that changes can only be allowed on fitness or injury basis with approval of the technical committee, the source said.
The selectors also want Babar Azam & Co. to build a strong team bond, before travelling to the United States. The source added that the PCB have submitted a provisional squad to the ICC for promotion purposes.
