The BCCI and PCB have reached an agreement on the hybrid model for Asia Cup 2023, leading to the likely release of the schedule on July 14.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) and the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) have put their differences aside and agreed on the hybrid model for the upcoming Asia Cup 2023. Under this model, four matches will be played in Pakistan, while the remaining matches (nine) will take place in Sri Lanka. The agreement between the two boards paves the way for the release of the Asia Cup 2023 schedule on July 14.

PCB chairman Zaka Ashraf expressed his satisfaction with the agreement, stating, "It's a good beginning, and there will be more meetings like this. We have agreed to have more meetings and improve relations."

When will the Asia Cup 2023 start?

According to Cricbuzz, the Asia Cup will take place from  August 31 to September 17.

India are likely to play Pakistan in Sri Lanka's Dambulla in the upcoming Asia Cup 2023. 

Will Jay Shah travel to Pakistan during Asia Cup?

Reports in Pakistan emerged that both Ashraf and Shah exchanged mutual invitations and the latter might travel to Pakistan during the Asia Cup. 

 

However, Arun Singh Dhumal, the BCCI representative to the ICC's CEC (Chief Executives Committee) meeting, denied the reports. 

"Mr Jay Shah has not agreed to any invitation and will not be travelling to Pakistan," the IPL chairman stated from Durban. 

Whereas, another BCCI source added: "We have had talks over the Asia Cup and the hybrid model was approved. There was no such thing as an invitation to each other."

What next for India?

India are currently in the Caribbean islands and will be in action from July 12 in the first test match against West Indies at Windsor Park in Dominica.
