In December 2022, Indian wicketkeeper Rishabh Pant was involved in a car accident on his way from Delhi to Roorkee, which saw him suffer multiple injuries as he was admitted to a hospital in Dehradun.
Pant only began to walk over a month after getting admitted to the hospital, and began the slow road to recovery later on in 2023. As a result, he missed the entirety of IPL 2023, India's Asia Cup campaign and the 2023 World Cup on home soil.
