Going into the third T20I on 8 August, West Indies will have a chance to take an unassailable 3-0 lead and clinch the series. But when did they last beat India in a T20I series?

When did India last lose a T20I series against West Indies?

The current series is only the second series of five matches that the two countries have contested, the first being India's visit to the Caribbean in 2022, which they won 4-1.

This is the ninth bilateral T20I series between India and West Indies, which includes two one-off T20Is. West Indies won one of those, in 2017 in Kingston when opener Evin Lewis smashed 125 off 62 balls to help the home side chase down 191 with nine balls left.

India have won all of the three-match series against West Indies. The last time they lost a series of multiple matches was in 2016, when one of the two scheduled games was rained out and the other won by West Indies.

In Lauderhill in 2016, West Indies batted first and posted a massive 245/6, led by openers Johnson Charles (79 off 33) and Evin Lewis (100 off 49).

In reply, India lost Ajinkya Rahane and Virat Kohli early but a blistering 62 off 28 balls from Rohit Sharma, combined with KL Rahul's 110 off 51 and MS Dhoni's quickfire 43, took India to 244/3 in 19.5 overs.

With two required off the last ball, Dhoni sliced Dwayne Bravo straight to Marlon Samuels at third man for a crushing one-run defeat.
