KL Rahul has been selected to lead the Indian cricket team in the first two ODI of the three-match series against Australia which starts on September 22.
Rahul will be in charge of the team in the absence of regular captain Rohit Sharma, who along with Virat Kohli, Hardik Pandya and Kuldeep Yadava, has been rested for the first two matches.

KL Rahul has led India on eight occasions in ODI matches. His first-ever series as Indian captain was against South Africa in a three-match series in 2022.
Later that year, he led a second-string Indian side against Zimbabwe and the last time he was in charge of the dressing room was in the final ODI of the series against Bangladesh in December 2022.
