What happened to Ishan Kishan?

Ishan Kishan was hit off Chris Jordan’s elbow in the first innings of the Qualifier 2 match. The mishap took place in the 17th over. Chris Jordan, unfortunately, and unintentionally, hit Kishan's eye with his elbow as he went to don his cap. The freak injury occured since Jordan was unaware of Kishan's proximity.

Ishan was walking toward Jordan to change the ends of the pitch in the event of the completion of an over. Jordan’s hand hit Kishan’s left eye leaving Kishan injured. He was replaced by Vishnu Vinod soon after, who kept the wickets for the rest of the innings.

How long is Kishan injured?

Kishan’s eye looked very bruised and the player was seen in immense pain while walking off the pitch. However, there is no news on the time scale of the injury, but it is noteworthy that Kishan did not walk out to open the innings with Rohit Sharma. Impact Player Nehal Wadhera partnered with Rohit Sharma.

In fact, Vishnu Vinod replaced Kishan in the lineup as a concussion substitute.
