On Saturday, India took on England in the fifth and final Test of the sides' bilateral series at the HPCA Stadium in Dharamshala. The visitors are only playing for WTC points, as India sealed a series win with victory in Ranchi last week.

After being bowled out for 218, England conceded a 255-run first innings lead. Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill both scored centuries, while Yashasvi Jaiswal, Sarfaraz Khan and Devdutt Padikkal made fifties.

In their second innings, England's top-order was undone by off-spinner R Ashwin. They were five down at lunch on day three, before being bowled out for 195, suffering an innings defeat and a 4-1 series scoreline.

What is England's Test record in India since their series win in 2012?

The series victory marked India's 17th consecutive win in home conditions. It has been nearly 12 years since the Men in Blue lost a home Test series, with the last team to defeat them being England, in 2012.

This is England's third tour of India since that series win. In 2016, they suffered a 4-0 loss before losing 3-1 in 2021. The 4-1 scoreline here means the visitors have won just two matches out of 14 in India since 2012. Some of the losses have been particularly heavy as well with four innings defeats and four further matches lost by over 200 runs.
