Team India lifted the T20 World Cup 2024 with a closely-fought win over South Africa. Star Batter Virat Kohli came up with the goods on the night of the final, with his 59-ball 76.
Courtesy of a batting masterclass by Kohli, India became the first-ever nation to go unbeaten in a T20 World Cup. However, the dampener came in only in the post-match presentation, when the legendary batter announced his retirement from the shortest format of the game.
Virat Kohli revealed that it was time for the new generation to take over and that he would hang his boots from the shortest format of the game.
