In a recent interview with Star Sports, Kohli spoke with the local broadcaster ahead of the Asia Cup. He emphasised on the playing according to situation in white-ball cricket, saying:

"In white-ball cricket, the mindset has always been to be aggressive. That it's very important to be aware of the game's situation, regardless of how you want to play."

"You can't play one-dimensional cricket in ODIs, especially in big tournaments, because the pressure is much higher. Composure is what wins you games. And I believe that in ODI cricket, there is still a significant role for composure," he added.

Virat Kohli nearing a milestone

Discussing his current ranking, he currently holds the No.9 position in the ICC Men's ODI rankings and is merely 102 runs away from reaching the remarkable milestone of 13,000 runs in ODI cricket. There is a strong likelihood that he will accomplish this feat sooner rather than later, and fans can anticipate its completion during the ongoing Asia Cup. In this tournament, India is scheduled to face Pakistan on 2nd September in Kandy, Sri Lanka.
